Howdydoo, friends.
To those of you who listen to the podcast, apologies for not finishing this up sooner. To be honest, having a front-row seat to all eight hours of the Democratic National Convention slowed my week down considerably, and a number of my projects (including my Humanist Looks at the Bible newsletter) suffered.
Some Stats
I thought you might be interested to know that, while 100% accuracy isn't possible because my podcast is spread across several "podcatchers," my listener-ship is actually surprisingly good. Some people don't get to it for a week or two, so let me go back to early July and report the numbers for Episodes 071 to 075:
071 Temples Along The Old Tokaido, Part I (Jul 10, 2020) 24 views
072 Hangzhou's "Temple Of The Soul's Retreat" (Jul 13, 2020) 23 views
073 Japan's Highest Falls--Oh, and a Temple (Jul 17, 2020) 30 views
074 Last Resting Place of a Crazy Monk (Jul 21, 2020) 25 views
075 Kimii Dera, The Temple of Three Wells (Jul 24, 2020) 21 views
That's an average of nearly 25 listens (archive.org calls them "views") per episode. Not bad!
Older Episodes
I noticed recently that some of the podcatchers don't list episodes more than a few months old. There are three ways you can get to these:
GOOD: Go to your inbox and find the Newsletter you want to listen to; click the link for Archive.org and enjoy!
BETTER: Go to the blog (through which I promulgate the podcasts) and scroll through the episodes to find the one you want; again, click the Archive.org link.
BEST: Go directly to my page on Archive.org and scroll down the page until you find the episode you want. Click the title and hit "play." (You can see my stats there, too, under the CBS Eye!)
The moral of the story is: Uploading to Archive.org is the best decision I ever made! If you ever want to start a podcast--absolutely free--I'll be happy to walk you through how I did it.
The Links for 083
Anyway, here are the links to the files for Episode 083, and again, I apologize. At least it will be four more years until the next Democratic convention!
Stay well and happy!
James
