The Bodhisattva of the Great Vow

This fine wooden statue of Kshitigarbha (Ch. Dizang; Jp. Jizo) stands in the Bell Tower at Qita Temple in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China. (That's a typical place for him, with Guanyin across the courtyard in the Drum Tower). Dizang has pledged to save they six types of beings from their various levels of hell.
